The Governor’s Residence is located in a quiet residential area surrounded by diplomatic missions and within walking distance of the Shwedagon Pagoda, Rangoon’s most famous landmark.
An elegant teak mansion dating from the 1920’s, the Residence is surrounded by lotus ponds, leafy gardens and a fan-shaped swimming pool. The open air colonial-style Mindon Lounge overlooks the beautiful green ceramic pool and gardens and serves light refreshments.
